Tips and Tricks

  • After printing, quickly rinse the linoleum plates with water and allow them to dry.

How it is done:

  • Wash the cushion cover to remove the finish. Do not use fabric softener to help the color adhere. Allow the pillows to dry and iron. Prepare the work area and materials.
  • The first step is to cut the soft linoleum sheet in half with a cutter.
  • Then draw a quarter circle with a compass and cut it out with the linoleum carving tool so that the surface of the quarter circle is raised.
  • Insert a piece of cardboard into the cushion cover. This will provide stability and prevent paint from seeping through to the other side of the cushion cover. Next, mask the edges of the cushion cover. You do not want them to be decorated with paint.
  • All Marabu Textile Print inks are water based and can be mixed together. If you do not find the right color in the standard color selection, you can mix the colors as you wish. It is best to mix the desired color in a separate container.
  • Place the Textile Print ink in a flat plastic container so that it can be optimally absorbed by the paint roller. Then use the paint roller to roll the textile print ink onto the lino plate.
  • Then print the design where you want it on the pillowcase. This will create a pattern of quarter circles in different colors. Allow the ink to dry thoroughly.
  • After drying, iron the pillowcase at cotton temperature through a thin cloth for 3 minutes per 30 x 30 cm to fix the color. It is then washable up to 40° C. Always wash and iron designed textiles inside out.
