Little pirate shirt with Marabu Textil Print screenprinting

How it is done:

• Wash the shirt before use. The shirt needs to be free of any finishes and conditioners. Cover the work area thoroughly.
• Print your pirate motif and cut it out using a cutter.
• Stick the stencil onto the flat printing side using adhesive tape.
• Stick single parts of the stencil, e. g. the eye or mouth, directly onto the screen using a double sided sticky tape.
• Place a piece of cardboard, paper or foil between the fabric layers of the shirt to prevent the paint from soaking through.
• Place the flat side of the screen on the shirt
• Stir the paint well before use. Then use a palette knife to put the paint on the upper edge of the screen in a line (approx. 1 cm thick).
• Next, use the squeegee to spread the paint in a downwards motion from the top to the bottom over the design without any pressure (flooding). Slide the squeegee from the top of the design to the bottom, applying even pressure, in order to transfer the paint to the fabric.
• Carefully lift off the screen and clean it with water immediately. Leave to dry.
• In order to heat set the paint, place the shirt in the oven for 8 minutes at 150 °C after the paint has dried. After fixing, the paint can be washed at up to 40 °C.
