Tips and Tricks

  • The textile print can be fixed in the oven (8 min. / 150 °C) after drying. The textile must be heat resistant (buttons, zippers, etc.).

How it is done:

  • Wash the pajamas to remove the finish. Don't use fabric softener; this will help the color adhere better. Let the pajamas dry, then iron them if needed. Set up the work area and lay out the materials.
  • Cut a piece of the soft linoleum sheet that is 2.5 cm wide using the cutter. Cut the 2.5 cm wide piece in half again. Draw five hearts on the other larger piece of plate with a pencil—one heart in each corner and one in the middle. Finally, draw a heart in the middle of one of the small plates.
  • Use the linoleum carving tool to remove the linoleum around the hearts, raising them.
  • Stir the Textil Print paint in pyrol red well and apply it to a piece of cardboard or similar. Then pick up with the paint roller.
  • Use the paint roller to apply the Textil Print paint to the linoleum plate. Ensure that only the hearts are covered with paint. Begin by making a test print on a piece of paper. If the print doesn't meet your requirements, remove areas from the linoleum plate.
  • Place a piece of cardboard or similar in the trouser legs of the pyjamas to prevent paint from seeping through to the back of the pants. Moisten the linoleum plate with paint, turn it over, and place it in the desired position on the pyjamas. Press firmly with your hands to ensure the plate doesn't slip.
  • Lift the lino plate off carefully and repeat the process until the entire trouser legs have been printed. Fill in any gaps in the motif with a heart using the smaller lino plate.
  • Any unevenness in the printed image can be easily repaired with a brush.
  • You can also print hearts on the entire pyjama top after the trousers — or just one heart at the top of each collar.
  • Allow the paint to dry thoroughly. Clean the linoleum plate and the brush in the meantime and dry well.
  • After the paint dries, iron the pajamas at cotton temperature through a thin cloth for 3 minutes per 30 x 30 cm to fix the paint. Then, wash the item at up to 40°C. Remember: always wash and iron designed textiles inside out.
