The right decoration for every season: Marabu easy marble turns simple white Easter eggs or plain coloured Christmas baubles into a special eyecatcher. The marble colours are ideal for immersion marble effects on plastic, glass, wood, metal, polystyrene as well as large-area marble effects on paper. The set contains six colours so you can get started in the world of marble effects.

Marbling

Originating from China and Japan, the marbling technique came to Middle and Western Europe in the 16th century via Persia and Turkey. This traditional skill of the imitation of marble (veining the surface of an object) has not lost its attraction today - on the contrary: Marabu easy marble breathes new life into the marbling technique and is so simple to use.
Work clothing

We recommend wearing rubber gloves and an apron or similar when working with easy marble.Work speed

Always work quickly as easy marble will form a paint film within a very short time, making it impossible to create a marble effect pattern.Drop application

The original easy marble shade can only be achieved on white materials. The darker backgrounds of materials such as wood, papier mâché, etc. will make the colours appear darker.Cleaning tools

Marabu Cleaner & Thinner or turpentine substitute can be used for cleaning the tools used for creating marble effects with easy marble.Pre-cleaning

Use white spirit to clean the object before applying marble effects with easy marble Glas and Metal.

Shaking of marbling paint Easy marble
Effect and white pigments in neon, metallic and pastel shades settle heavily to the bottom. You should therefore shake them well or remove the drip cap and briefly stir the paint.

Tips easy marble:

• More paint and a cooler water temperature extend the drying time of the paint film on the surface of the water.

• When adding marble effects to polystyrene, only use a small amount of paint.

• The more paint you use, the more intensive the marble effect will be. The fresher the paint, the better the result.

• If paint droplets are added with too much of a flourish or too slowly, air bubbles can form on the marbled surface, which result in white spots when the object dries.

• Pre-clean smooth surfaces such as metal or glass with alcohol.

• Standard and neon paints are only suitable for light backgrounds. Pastel and metallic shades can also be used on dark objects. Crystal clear is ideal for monochrome marbling.

Using easy marble on paper

Is Marabu easy marble suitable for paper as well?

Yes. Marble effects can be created on paper up to DIN A5 with Marabu easy marble using just water, without a special marble effect base coat. Rice paper and other absorbent papers produce particularly beautiful effects. Instead of immersing it, gently place the paper on the surface of the water, let it absorb the water briefly and then remove it carefully. Smooth papers have to be dragged below the surface of the water during removal to prevent a second layer of paint from settling. Wallpaper paste should be used as a marble effect base coat for paper formats between DIN A5 and DIN A4. This prevents the paper from sinking too fast and also allows exact marble effect patterns.Using easy marble on polystyrene

Is Marabu easy marble also suitable for polystyrene?

Yes. In addition to polystyrene, the marble effect can also be achieved on plastic, glass, acrylic glass, papier mâché, blown eggs, metal and paper.
