Instructions for Marabu Metallic Pen and Glitter Pen:

Ensure the painting surface is clean and free from dust. Drying time approx. 6 hours after applying the paint. For textiles (cotton and mixed fabrics with up to 20% man-made fibres), any finishes and fabric conditioners have to be washed out. Lightly press the liner into the fabric. After drying, iron through a thin cloth for 3 minutes at cotton setting. Large-area designs have to be ironed for 3 minutes on each 30 x 30 cm section. Also suitable for oven fixing (8 minutes/150°C). Check heat resistance of the painting surface first! Afterwards washable up to 40°C. Wash and iron inside out.

Pluster /Glitter / Dot / Pearl Pens on fabric?

The Pluster/Glitter/Dot/Pearl Pens are suitable for use on cotton and mixed fabrics with up to 20% man-made fibres. Stretchy fabrics with elastane, very coarse fabrics or long fibre fabrics such as terry or velour are less suitable. On these, the Pluster/Glitter/Dot/Pearl Pens might not be able to bond with the fibre sufficiently which could result in reduced permanence. Fabrics which cannot be ironed at cotton setting (150°C or 3 dots) are also not suitable.Removing finishes/pre-washing textiles

Before painting, new textiles have to be washed at least once without fabric conditioners. Fabric finishes and conditioners prevent the fibre from absorbing the paint. Colour fastness after fixing cannot be guaranteed in this case.Removing/washing out stains

Remove any stains from Pluster or Glitter Pen on clothes, floors etc. with lukewarm water and soap immediately.Decorative clay pot figures

When painting double-layer textiles (T-shirts or pillow cases), always place a piece of cardboard between the fabric layers to prevent the paint from seeping through. This also makes painting on fabric easier, particularly for children.Paint application

The thicker you apply the Marabu Pen, the stronger the Glitter and Pluster effect. Thicker application also increases the washability of the Glitter Pen on textiles.Suitable textiles

Marabu textile paints can be used to paint on all textiles (free from finishes and detergents) made of cotton, linen, jute, silk, and mixed fabrics up to max. 20 % man-made fibres. Do not use on knitware as this cannot be fixed to be washable.Glitter Pen on textiles

When using the Glitter Pen, apply an even, rich coat to ensure that the glitter particles are sufficiently embedded in the binding agent. This is a prerequisite for good adhesion on textiles, in addition to proper fixing.Small 3D animals on baking paper

Small Pluster Pen animals can also be painted on baking paper and then puffed up in the oven. They can then easily be removed from the baking paper and adhered to other materials with glue.Combinations

Try combining Window Color with the Marabu Pens: the Glitter Pen is great for embellishing dried Window Color clings. Any areas where the Pen has peeled off or washed off can be painted over and fixed. Already applied and fixed paint does not change substantially with this.Painting on textiles

When painting, ensure to achieve sufficient contact with the textile. Simply dropping the paint onto the textile does not achieve sufficient contact with the fibre and it would not be ensured that the textile is washable after fixing.Painting with paint tips

Never iron painted areas directly, always place a thin cotton cloth between fabric and iron.Puff-up paint on stone

Pluster Pen on stone, terracotta and similar materials should be puffed up on the oven (150°C) for 5-10 minutes, depending on thickness of the paint, as these materials require longer to heat up.Velvety surface with 3D

The thicker the paint application of Pluster or Glitter Pen, the greater the Glitter or puff-up effect.Washing painted textiles

Always wash painted textiles inside out and use a mild detergent. Never place a hot iron directly on the painted area. Iron either from the reverse or through a cloth.Serviette technique with 3D effect

When painting T-shirts, simply slide a piece of cardboard underneath the fabric to prevent the paint from seeping through the layers.

Why does the Marabu Pluster Pen not puff up on stone?

Materials such as stone or terracotta take longer to heat up. After a drying time of at least 6 hours, it will therefore take about 5 - 10 minutes at 150 °C in the oven until the Marabu Pluster Pen puffs up, depending on the thickness of the paint.Insufficient adhesion of Glitter, Pluster Pen on textiles

What could be the reason for insufficient adhesion of Glitter, Pluster Pen on textiles?

It is very important to lightly press the tip of the liner into the fabric while painting. After a drying time of approx. 6-12 hours, iron the Marabu Pluster Pen from the reverse on a soft surface at cotton setting for 10-60 seconds. Or place into the oven for 10-60 seconds until the paint has puffed up matt and textured. Fix the Marabu Glitter Liner from the front through a thin cloth for 3 minutes at cotton setting or place into the oven for 8 minutes at 150°C. Are the Marabu Glitter Pens and Pluster Pens suitable for painting on any fabric?

No. The Glitter Pens and Pluster Pens are primarily suitable for painting on cotton and mixed fabrics with up to 20% man-made fibres. How do I fix Marabu Glitter Pen and Pluster Pen paint?

The applied paint should dry for approx. 6 hours (depending on thickness of the coat). When using Glitter Pen on textiles (cotton and mixed fabrics with up to 20% man-made fibres), iron through a thin cloth at cotton setting or fix in a pre-heated oven (8 min./150 °C) after drying. Puff up the applied Pluster Pen with a powerful hair dryer (on the highest setting) or in a pre-heated oven (2-15 minutes depending on thickness/150 °C). When using on textiles, iron all painted sections from the reverse at cotton setting on a soft surface without pressure for 2-3 minutes or in the oven (2-15 minutes depending on thickness/150 °C).
