Marabu Textil Metallic

Instructions for use:

1. Wash out any finishes or fabric conditioners before use.

2. The paint can be applied with a brush, spatula or foam roller. Apply a rich coat to obtain the best possible metallic effect. The appearance of the colours changes depending on fabric colour and thickness of the paint. Drying time approx. 6 hours, depending on thickness of the paint.

3. Fixing: After drying, iron through a thin cloth for 3 minutes at cotton setting (for larger designs 3 minutes on each 30 x 30 cm section) or fix in a pre-heated oven (8 min./150°C). Check heat resistance of the painting surface first! Afterwards washable up to 40°C. Wash and iron inside out.

Removing finishes/pre-washing textiles

Before painting, new textiles have to be washed at least once without fabric conditioners. Fabric finishes and conditioners prevent the fibre from absorbing the paint. Colour fastness after fixing cannot be guaranteed in this case.Applying the special effect colours

The special effect colours can be applied with brushes, stippling brushes, pallet knives and foam rollers. Make sure to use a very soft brush with synthetic hairs for Textile Glitter.Double-layer textiles

When painting double-layer textiles (T-shirts or pillow cases), always place a piece of cardboard between the fabric layers to prevent the paint from seeping through. This also makes painting on fabric easier, particularly for children.Fixing textile dyes

Exact and thorough fixing of the dye is absolutely required for obtaining permanent textile designs.Fixing combinations (Liner/textile colours)

Combinations of textile paints from a jar and from a Liner on textiles are best fixed in the oven for 8 minutes at 150 °C.Suitable textiles

Marabu textile paints can be used to paint on all textiles (free from finishes and detergents) made of cotton, linen, jute, silk, and mixed fabrics up to max. 20 % man-made fibres. Do not use on knitware as this cannot be fixed to be washable.No more sliding with Marabu Fix-it!

Fabrics do not slide around when the underlying surface, e.g. cardboard, is sprayed with Marabu Fix-it. The clear adhesive spray is removable and leaves no residue.Sufficient application of Glitter and Metallic

Always apply a sufficiently thick coat of the Glitter and Metallic textile paints so the effect paints can bond with the fabric in the best possible way to achieve a glittering or sparkling appearance.Drying before fixing

Painted textiles should only be fixed once the paint has fully dried. Leave to dry over night if possible.Washing painted textiles

Always wash painted textiles inside out and use a mild detergent. Never place a hot iron directly on the painted area. Iron either from the reverse or through a cloth.Painting T-shirts

When painting T-shirts, simply slide a piece of cardboard underneath the fabric to prevent the paint from seeping through the layers.

Surfaces and fine lines

The effect paint Textile Metallic is especially suitable for surfaces. For fine lines we recommend the Marabu Pens (Pluster Pen, Glitter Pen).

Use stencil adhesive spray

Spray stencils with Marabu Fix-it or Stencil Adhesive Spray before applying. The colourless adhesive spray is removable and leaves no residue.
