Fully opaque fabric paint for dark fabrics. Washable up to 40 °C. Opaque, water-based, soft to the touch. Especially suitable for fabric painting and fabric printing. Fixing with an iron or in the oven.
Wash out finishes and fabric conditioners before painting. Paint Marabu Textil plus on the dry fabric and leave to dry. Then iron each painted section (50 x 50 cm) from the front through a thin cloth for 5 minutes at cotton setting or fix in the oven for 8 minutes at 150°C. Afterwards Marabu Textil plus will be perfectly washable up to 40°C. Simply clean brushes and other tools with water immediately after use. Always wash and iron textiles inside out or iron from the front through a cloth.
Stenciling with Marabu Textile plus
For textiles (cotton and mixed fabrics up to max. 20 % synthetic fibres), wash out the finish and fabric softener. Spray stencil with adhesive spray and allow to flash off. Place the cardboard inside the T-shirt. Place the stencil and press the edges of the motif firmly into place. Dab Marabu Textil plus vertically over the motif with a dabbing or stencilling brush. Remove the stencil and allow the paint to dry. After drying, fix according to the instructions. This is how quickly and easily the desired motif can be applied to the textile - professionally done by yourself.
Removing finishes/pre-washing textiles
Before painting, new textiles have to be washed at least once without fabric conditioners. Fabric finishes and conditioners prevent the fibre from absorbing the paint. Colour fastness after fixing cannot be guaranteed in this case.Double-layer textiles
When painting double-layer textiles (T-shirts or pillow cases), always place a piece of cardboard between the fabric layers to prevent the paint from seeping through. This also makes painting on fabric easier, particularly for children.Fixing textile dyes
Exact and thorough fixing of the dye is absolutely required for obtaining permanent textile designs.Fixing combinations (Liner/textile colours)
Combinations of textile paints from a jar and from a Liner on textiles are best fixed in the oven for 8 minutes at 150 °C.Suitable textiles
Marabu textile paints can be used to paint on all textiles (free from finishes and detergents) made of cotton, linen, jute, silk, and mixed fabrics up to max. 20 % man-made fibres. Do not use on knitware as this cannot be fixed to be washable.Drying before fixing
Painted textiles should only be fixed once the paint has fully dried. Leave to dry over night if possible.Washing painted textiles
Always wash painted textiles inside out and use a mild detergent. Never place a hot iron directly on the painted area. Iron either from the reverse or through a cloth.Painting T-shirts
When painting T-shirts, simply slide a piece of cardboard underneath the fabric to prevent the paint from seeping through the layers.
Insufficient adhesion of Textil plus
What could be the reason for Marabu Textil plus not adhering properly?
It is important to only paint pre-washed fabrics which are free from any finishes. The textile paint Marabu Textil plus should be left to dry for several hours before fixing with an iron from the front through a thin cloth for 5 minutes on each painted section at cotton setting (150 °C). Wash the textile with a gentle detergent at 40 °C. Always wash and iron from the reverse.Difference between Textil and Textil plus
