Marabu Relief Paste

It's so easy:

Clean the glass or porcelain with washing-up liquid or Marabu Cleaner to ensure it is free from dust and grease. Before painting, rinse off all detergent residue.

Paint the surface as desired (see techniques with Relief Paste).

The paint is dry to the touch after 30 minutes and dishwasher-safe after 3 days. We recommend washing the painted glasses at max. 50 °C on a glasses/cups cycle.

Contours painting glass

Stained Glass is easy! Fix a template behind the glass and pull the contours according to the Marabu Relief Paste. Once the contours are dried, you can color the image with Marabu and a glass of fine synthetic hair brush.Scratching technique

You can also easily achieve complex motifs with these self-adhesive templates from Marabu. Stick the templates to glass or porcelain, press Marabu Relief Paste from the tube and spread across the entire template using a painting knife. Remove the template - and you're done!

Painted acrylic sheets

To hang acrylic sheets painted with Marabu Glas or Glas Art, simply pierce them with a hot nail.Painted tiles

When grouting painted ceramic tiles, use only fine-grain grout and only use in the joint areas, i.e. along the edge of the tiles. Clean painted tiles only with water and washing-up liquid. Do not use any abrasive cleaners.Accelerating drying

If you are in a hurry, the drying time can be reduced. To do this, let the object dry for approx. 4 hours, place it in a cold oven and set the temperature to 100 °C. When the temperature of 100 °C has been reached, heat the painted object at this temperature for 30 minutes and then let it cool down in the closed oven.Omitting cutting areas and drinking edges

Cutting areas of plates and drinking edges of mugs and glasses should not be painted as cutlery could damage the designs.Corrections

Corrections or complete removal of the paint application are possible as long as the paint has not fully dried. Use e.g. a cotton swab with Marabu Cleaner or white spirit.Avoiding air bubbles

Always stir the paints – particularly the special effect colours – as colour pigments will settle in the jar. Do not shake to avoid creating air bubbles.Dishes for everyday use

Glass and porcelain objects have to be cleaned thoroughly before painting. For especially effective cleaning, scrub the object with an abrasive detergent and a sponge and then wipe with Marabu Cleaner or with white spirit to ensure it is free from dust and grease. Before painting, rinse off all detergent residue with plenty of clean water.Dishwasher-safe

Wash the painted objects at max. 50 °C to enjoy your masterpieces for as long as possible.

Firing Relief Paste

Can Marabu Relief Paste also be fired?

It is generally not necessary to fire Relief Paste as it will be dishwasher-safe (max. 50 °C) after a 3 day drying period. But the drying time can be shortened: Place the painted object into the oven for 30 minutes at 100 °C.

Painting and designing dinnerware

Our porcelain, glass and acrylic paint (Glass Paint/Acrylic Paint/Porcelain & Glass Painter, Porcelain & Glass Painter KIDS) is basically non-toxic and also saliva-proof. Nevertheless, we recommend not to paint drinking rims and cut surfaces of tableware, as the paint is not approved for direct food contact.
