Tips and Tricks

  • Marabu GREEN paint is suitable for canvas, paper, cardboard, MDF, wood, stone, glass, polystyrene, cork and leather. Our well-dried texture pastes, texture gels and mediums as well as gesso can be painted with GREEN.
  • The paint will adhere best to a dry, clean, dust- and grease-free surface. Allow the surface to dry thoroughly after cleaning and before painting. Dark surfaces can be primed with white to make the colors shine even brighter.

How it is done:

  • Cover the work area and lay out the materials. Carefully clean the old paintings, if necessary. They should be clean and dry.
  • Cover the area of the image you do not want to paint with masking tape and press down firmly to prevent paint from hitting unwanted areas of the image.
  • Shake the GREEN alkyd paints well before use. Paint the side under the crepe tape with the GREEN alkyd paint using a large brush. If the result is not opaque enough, apply a second coat.
  • Remove the masking tape while the paint is still wet and allow the paint to dry completely. If necessary, touch up the edges of the paint with a fine brush.
  • A picture can be painted over in cream white, including the frame. Once the paint is dry, you can add color accents to the picture with the different brush thicknesses of the Brush Set in midnight blue, pastel pink and metallic gold. Create a whole new piece of art for your wall!
