Candy cane lino print with Marabu Textil Print

How it is done:

• Wash, dry and iron the apron and kitchen towel without fabric softener before printing. Prepare work materials and cover the work surface.
• Place the tracing paper over the template and trace the lines of the candy cane onto the tracing paper with a pencil.
• Place the tracing paper on the linoleum plate with the transferred pattern facing down. Then trace the lines again with the pencil so that the pattern is transferred to the linoleum plate.
• Next, use the carving tool to scratch out the areas of the template that should remain white afterwards.
• Coat the motif on the linoleum plate evenly with paint using the foam roller.
• First make a test print on a piece of paper. This way it can be determined whether the motif still needs some re-carving.
• When the motif is perfect, coat it again with paint and paint roller and print it on the apron or kitchen towel in the desired place. Repeat the process as often as you like until the desired design is achieved. Allow the paint to dry thoroughly.
• To fix the colour afterwards, iron the motif for 3 minutes without steam after drying. During ironing, place a cloth between the motif and the iron. Afterwards, the apron and cloth are machine washable at up to 40 degrees.
